Mission and Purpose

"To preserve and promote the spirit and heritage of Horseshoe Scout Reservation and its camps (Camp Horseshoe and Camp John H. Ware, III), to be a benefactor to the Reservation and to promote the brotherhood of Scouting among the alumni of the Reservation."

Introduction

Do you remember the sounds of reveille and taps echoing across Camp Horseshoe? The solemn Indian pageants on Saturday night? The Sunday chapel service overlooking the valley of the Octoraro? Do you remember the fun of "Green Grow the Rushes," "Cock Robin" and "The Cat Came Back" in the Dining Hall?

When did you last step foot in the "Camp upon the Mason-Dixon Line"? Are you like the many others who got the "dust of Horseshoe in your moccasins" and can't get it out?

Chester County Council, BSA has authorized the creation of an Alumni Association for Horseshoe Scout Reservation. Membership in this organization will be open to anyone who has camped at the Reservation and wants to help support its ongoing success. The purpose of the Alumni Association will be to benefit both Camp Horseshoe and Camp Ware for many years to come.

We hope that you will join the Alumni Association for Horseshoe Scout Reservation. As a first step, please fill out our online registration form . Your contribution will go a long way to help ensure Horseshoe's success.

Horseshoe Scout Reservation has an exciting future as it enters the 21'st century: always true to its long-standing traditions, but always striving for new levels of excellence. An Alumni Association for Horseshoe Scout Reservation can play an important role in making this happen. We hope to hear from you, and we look forward to seeing you in the Loop of the Octoraro Bend soon.
