Our council goal: Recognizing 100 leaders in next 30 days
Tom Dintaman comments:

“Many times in the past 10 years I represented our council at various meetings and services honoring very dedicated "local legends" of Scouting. I knew each name, but, in many cases I had missed the chance to call them friends. One by one, several men stood to pay tribute to their former Scoutmaster or fellow leader. The stories were marvelous ways to understand just what a difference these leaders had made in the lives of so many boys, men, and women.

All of us have been influenced by a strong Scouting leader – someone who made a difference. We now have a once in a century chance to recognize those leaders.  As a part of the BSA’s 100th Anniversary, the National Hall of Leadership has been created to collect stories of Scouting leaders men, women, Scouting Youth.

While our nominations have been open for over 6 months, our council has received fewer than a dozen nominations for the BSA's National Hall of Leadership.  I recall wonderful staff members and patrol leaders in a dozen Wood Badge courses. I think of youth and adult staff who led great Scouting events like camporees and Klondike derbies.  I think of youth and adult staff on our council's NYLT (National Youth Leader Training) courses. There are also a dozen Scoutmasters who have served 10 years or longer in that role. ALL MARVELOUS stories waiting to be told.

To nominate a person...
Please help us collect 100 new leadership stories in the next 30 days.

To be nominated, a person must be a living Scout or Scouting volunteer who may or may not be officially registered with the BSA. They must have served as an active Scout or Scouting volunteer for at least one year. A nominee may be young or old - there is no age limit - and you can submit as many nominations as you'd like.
